Leak Detection - The only National leak detection specialist
Approved by
If you have a leak no matter how small and you can't see or find it please contact us for free advise on what you can do. Typical problems are combination/system boiler loosing pressure, central heating and cold water mains pipes buried in concrete floors leaking water and damp patches on floors. We are experienced, flexible, Insurance approved and we constantly invest in the best technology and we cover mainland UK. Our engineers are Corgi registered so we are able to repair boilers that have developed faults due to constantly loosing water due to leakage. Homes, Schools, Factories and commercial properties - No job too small Modern visual leak detection goes well beyond simply looking for damp patches; thermal imaging, endoscopes and Acoustic technology and bit of Leakbusters magic all enable our team to find hidden leaks that cannot be found using traditional methods Industries like security, military, medicine and film have pushed visual technology to incredible heights over the last decade, enabling us to literally see through walls without putting so much as a scratch on them. In addition to detecting problems in typical premises, we also have a dive team who can carry out detection tests under inland waters such as reservoirs or storage tanks. Seesnake Camera Surveys Thermal Imaging An incredibly useful tool that sees heat and represents different temperatures with different colours on the screen, often seen on TV in use by police helicopters following a suspect at night, we use a highly sensitive version of the same camera which can detect 0.02 degree variation in temperature. So we can literally look through your walls and floors and the pipes themselves to see where water is leaking away or blocked up. Heat loss and damp detection A secondary use of the thermal imaging camera is to check the exterior of your house for major losses of heat or potential damp problems. Windows, walls, doors, fascia boards and roofing are all essentials for keeping heat inside your building and the thermal imager can highlight the biggest areas of heat loss and detect damp long before it affects your interior d‚cor. Fixing these faults can have an incredibly beneficial effect on your heating bills making the service highly cost effective and an environmentally sound move in reducing your energy consumption. Acoustic Leak Detection
Correlation This is an electronic sound testing device that takes readings from the water supply pipe by acoustic testing and locates any defects that may be present. It is accurate to within a minimum of 96%. This unit is normally used for detection of water main leaks and removes traditionally destructive plumbing detection methods such as excavating pipes. Sound testing This is an acoustic sound device that allows us to find leaks by locating the loudest point of the noise; this would normally be used to confirm one of the other tests. Highly sensitive microphones can pick up the sound of an eye blinking, tap dripping or gas hissing from a leak and report it to the device. Ultrasonic This is a method of ground radar, similar to a baby scan, that bears close resemblance to what we are able to see in your floor. It will expose all cavity and construction defaults within the scanned area, even allowing us to detect and trace pipe, cable and any other items located underground. The main purpose for this type of equipment is to locate and map services within the flooring. Leak Fact
Thermal Imaging Survey of Air Conditioning Unit When checking an AC condenser with infrared, the coil image can tell you a lot about the condition and coolant charge. We know of no other way to detect coil restrictions. Most units have at least 6 sections, each fed by small (~1/8") tubes. Their size makes them vulnerable to clogging. If several become restricted, heat dissipation and efficiency are affected. A severe condition can result in liquid coolant re-entering the compressor, resulting in excessive wear and premature failure. This was reported with one of the units shown. Note: Due to variations of condenser capacity, some manufacturers may not use every coil section, and one restricted section may not constitute a problem. A 10 section coil condenser less than one year old. This one has a normal IR signature. Most AC technicians have told us, they charge systems according to coolant line temperatures, rather than pressure. We often use a ?T of the condenser coolant lines, along with heat rise, and a ?T of the air across the evaporator coil to evaluate the operation of central air systems. Note, copper is not a great emitter. Electrical tape or adhesive paper stickers are necessary for more accurate readings.) Another 10 section coil condenser also less than one year old. This one shows about a 40% restriction of the coils. The efficiency was diminished about 15%. If significant coolant gas leaks are suspected, the power to the condenser can be shut down to stop the circulation fan. The condenser is then observed with IR while the system is still under pressure. We look at the attic ductwork for air leaks. However, some of the most important system air leak finds, have been at floor joist bays of 2 story homes. Also, at unsealed air return chases, that can be drawing in hot attic or exterior air. LEGAL BIT Whilst we take every care to fulfil our work properly, we are unable to conclusively guarantee the accuracy of our tracing or detection services. Thus we cannot take responsibility for any costs or loss caused by misleading results.Likewise we cannot be held liable for any damage howsoever caused following any action or inaction based on our results |
